In this class students will learn about the amazing adaptations of the typical halloween animals such as the echolocation use of bats, the silk and defense mechanisms of spiders, howling and the sense of smell of wolves, and the amazing eye sight and body elasticity of cats. We will discuss why these animals are associated with halloween and why these animals are important in ecosystems. Learning will be through discussion, slide show, and drawing. At the end of class students will create a halloween hanging bat out of a toilet paper roll, black construction paper and pipe cleaners. Or they have the option to draw a bat on black construction paper and cut it out.
