A look at a mysterious island, filled with thousands of dolls, and the stories surrounding the local area.

Class experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Students will learn some of the history of Xochimilco, Mexico including about the people who have lived here, some of the local legends, and the mystery of Doll Island. Students will also learn to identify the real doll island versus the fake one.
I have been teaching similar classes to this for over 2 years and have over 20 years experience working with students and children.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
This class is an EXTRA RED class, in the context of my classes, this means most students will find this class to be interesting, thrilling, and perhaps scary.
Students who do not like scary stories like Goosebumps and similar will likely not enjoy this class. They will likely enjoy my green or yellow classes.
In this class you should expect that I will address: The Aztecs and human sacrifice, the legend of La Llorona (a woman who drowned her children), and the island of the dolls (which is supposedly haunted and a little girl drown there). All of these things tie together in this class, and are not randomly selected. I have researched this class with people who have lived in Xochimilco and have verified the accuracy of this class in terms of the beliefs of locals and the local legends.
I will be using videos on Youtube, however, here is a direct link to this class's lesson plan so you can see and follow any of the links you'd like.
