This four-week, self-paced origami class is for all interested learners. There are no live meetings for this course; rather, students learn independently from video lectures on Edpuzzle and origami instructional videos. This course blends origami, history, and information about Halloween. Each week for four weeks, students will learn two origami models. After folding the models for the week, learners will create and share a reflective video. Students will also engage with fun, interactive lecture videos on Edpuzzle about origami and Halloween. Because this is a self-paced class, learners can fold along with the videos and pause or rewind as needed. During origami video tutorials, the camera is above my workspace so my hands and the project are always visible. To make folds easier to see, I mark each step on my model with a dotted line. I am available during weekly, posted office hours for video chat if desired by the learner for help. We will be using origami paper. Any square paper will do, but lighter weight papers are easiest to fold (not construction paper). Some models require scissors and glue. Fine motor skills are needed to fold and crease the paper precisely to make these models.
