*Please Note: No prior experience with drawing required; This class will be great for beginner artists as well as artists who are more advanced. All drawings are simplified for all students (each artists can add their own flair to their art as we go along) *Please Note: Every drawing is kid-friendly. None of these drawings will be gruesome or gory. This class is meant to create fun, awesome, and creative pieces centered around a holiday that many kids love. Do you like, maybe even LOVE Halloween? Do you also like art and creating awesome masterpieces? For Teacher Ileana's Halloween October Fest, we are going to create spooky, creepy-crawly, things-that-go-bump-in-the-night art! Are you ready to join me for Halloween Fest for the month of October? You'll make friends, chat about costumes, Halloween movies, trick-or-treating and much more! Spread the word, I'll see you there! Week of October 1st- Black cat in the moonlight and Jack-o-lantern pattern faces Week # October 8th- Bats in the moonlight and A witch/wizard and their black cat Week # October 15th- BOO! A Witch's Hat! and Ghosts and Spooky Homes Week # October 22nd- Zombie and Frankenstein and Patterned Monster Face Week # October 29th-Dressed up dancing Skeleton Faces In this course, young artists will work alongside other artists to create 10 different art pieces reflective of Halloween. Artists will follow directed step-by-step instruction from me. Students are free to be as creative as possible: add details, eliminate certain aspects, use whatever colors they choose, etc. They will also have the opportunity to engage in conversation about the picture, their favorite Halloween movies, costumes, and so on. Students will have the support of visuals, verbal instruction and guided modeling to better accommodate their needs. After creating each drawing, students will have the time to color, and add on to, their pictures and then share with the rest of the group. **Each of my art classes are paced to each students' needs. I check-in with each artist throughout the class to make sure they are keeping up and/or if they need additional support with anything.** I am so excited to see what they all create! My name is Teacher Ileana. Welcome to My Outschool Teaching Space.
Back in 2020, I led many art classes and social clubs aimed towards building unity and community in the Outschool world. As of recent, I am now more focused on academic classes geared toward working with students to build confident readers and writers.
I have been an educator in the Department of Education for more than 8 years. However, I have been working with the youth (aged 3-18 years old) for more than 10 years. I have been an educational assistant, after-school and summer counselor, teacher's assistant, online ENL teacher and now a certified K-12 TESOL certified educator.
I tutor students in reading, math and writing online through other platforms as well.
I work hard to build positive relationships with students. In every class I focus on being personable, allowing opportunities for all students to be their authentic self and build their confidence.
In my class, students feel comfortable coming as they are, learning something new and leaving with a sense of confidence they should always strive for.
