Class Experience

Children will be making , take part in storytelling, have fun with numbers, make a spider and enjoy a Halloween dance! Children are encouraged to come dressed in Halloween costumes for extra fun! The topics that will be covered include a puppet story of 'Hansel and Gretel' which will involve children interacting with the story and they can choose to tell their own stories as well. Children will practise counting and subtracting using animated slides. They will be looking at some Halloween themed poetry, which will help them to practise rhyming and enrich their language skills. They will also be making a paper card spider which will develop their creativity and imagination.

My class will be structured to acknowledge the different learning styles of children and will be a mixture of interactive slides, storytelling, poetry, arts and crafts, math and dance. The teaching tools used in this class are Canva, Nearpod and YouTube. My teaching style is very informal and child-centred and I will teach children about Halloween in a fun and interactive way focusing on different areas of the early years curriculum. The whole lesson is very interactive and encourages us all to participate, contribute and have fun as a group.

There is no required experience or knowledge, although the content of this class is not scary, children should already be familiar to the concept of Halloween to be prepared for Halloween content and younger children may need help with some of the activities.

** PLEASE NOTE only children in the specified age range (4-6) will be accepted on this course**

Other Details

Parental Guidance
As the subject is about Halloween, children should already be familiar with Halloween e.g. witches, ghosts etc so that the classes are not scary for them. The story 'Hansel and Gretel' is told in a fun way without making the witch in the story too scary.
Supply List
Children are encouraged to come dressed in their Christmas costumes.
