Class experience
In this class, we will do four fun Halloween-themed science experiments! This class is the perfect way to get excited about Halloween and learn some science in a fun and festive way. In class 1, we will learn about polymers before making our own pumpkin pie slime and whipped cream slime . In class 2, we will learn about mixtures, solutions, and chromatography before doing chromatography on some Halloween candy (or washable markers!) In class 3, we will learn about chemical reaction rates...
I am a certified chemistry teacher (grades 7-12) with 6.5 years of experience in the classroom and over a year of experience teaching on Outschool. I have also taught freshman college chemistry. From these experiences, I have worked with a lot of different types of learners at various stages of interest and motivation- from high school students simply taking the class as a requirement to college freshmen chemistry majors passionate about the course with never ending questions. I can tailor my teaching style to fit the learner, and I do what I can to make it approachable by anyone.

Supplies will be necessary for each week's experiment and a full shopping list will be provided at least 1 week before the start of class. Most supplies are commonly found in the home or readily available at grocery and big box stores.
