Oh no! You thought this house was made of candy but it was a trap! Now you're locked in the witch house with no way out. Or is there? You look around and see an old spell book. After closer inspection, you discover a spell that can help you escape. But some of the letters are missing! Can you find clues to help you learn the missing letters of the spell and escape before the witch returns? Students will work together using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to solve puzzles, logic games, and fun Halloween math. We will practice social skills, communication, and teamwork while having fun together. Math and reading are necessary to complete the puzzles and challenges. I will be available throughout class to provide help as needed, but students are encouraged to try and work together with their teammates to solve the puzzles even when it's difficult. I can't wait to go on a Halloween Escape Room adventure together!

Parental Guidance
There is a spooky background image for the "witch house." It includes jars of unknown substances and there is a bone on the background on a shelf among many other objects. All other "spooky" images are clipart and more cute than scary.
Supply List
Students will need a writing utensil and paper to help solve the puzzles and remember the clues.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Angie. For the past four years, I’ve taught English online while providing home education to my son who is currently a 5th grader. I have a master’s degree in social work and have also taken three years of doctorate level courses in pursuit of a PhD in Early Childhood Education. For several years, I taught child development classes to aspiring teachers at the collegiate level. In my career, I’ve also been a child and family therapist, helping children and their families tackle emotional and mental health concerns. I’ve worked with children in many capacities and am passionate about helping students learn and thrive in a variety of ways. I strongly believe learning should be fun, and I strive to always create an upbeat, positive learning environment. Who says you can’t learn and be silly at the same time?!
Outside of teaching, my hobbies include photography, martial arts, reading, and gaming with my family. I live at the beach in Florida with my husband Erick (also an Outschool teacher!), our science-loving son, and our cuddly cat.
If you would like to sign up for a class but the listed times don't work with your learner's schedule, please send me a message stating the class(es) you'd like to book as well as dates and times that work for you. I will do my best to accommodate scheduling requests.
