Welcome to Miss Devyn's Halloween Dungeons and Dragons Game Campaign! 🍎 Get to know our teachers (copy and paste in your browser): https://bit.ly/VGUMeetTheTeachers 🚀 Class Description: To celebrate Halloween, the teachers from Miss Devyn's Video Game Universe are hosting spooky Dungeons and Dragons campaigns for learners to play. Each teacher will be hosting a different campaign with unique settings, quests, villains, and monsters. All stories will be horror-themed and may include werewolves, vampires, zombies, skeletons, ghosts, and more! Each teacher's story will run for about 9 hours total over the course of 6 weeks, with 3-5 players. If/when it doesn't go quite according to plan, the teacher can easily lengthen or shorten the story seamlessly as the Dungeon Master without issue to ensure the story ends in a satisfactory and conclusive manner by the end of the campaign. 🙋 Who is this class for? 🙋♀️ - For students who already know the basics of D&D and are comfortable making their own character for the most part. - For students who are looking for a fun, horror themed short adventure in time for Halloween! - For students who are comfortable with scary / fantasy horror themes, monsters, and fantasy violence. 🥳 Small Class Sizes: Our smaller class sizes guarantee quality attention given to each individual! Rather than getting lost inside a giant class or being isolated inside a Zoom breakout room, our teachers play along on their screens and get to know every individual, and learners are given a chance to form true bonds of friendship. ⚠️ Experience Note: Note to parents: This is not a good "first adventure" for students. This class assumes that players have leveled a character to at least level 3 in game, which represents about 5-8 hours of gameplay experience. 😇 Student Expectations: Students agree adhere to our core philosophy that roleplaying games are team based, inclusive, and supportive of fellow players. Students will strive, to the best of their abilities, to help each other both in and out of game. 📝 Class Requirements & Supply List: - gameplay experience with D&D 5th Edition OR One D&D - a character created fit for a medieval horror themed setting - a character sheet (either virtually or classic pen & paper is OK) - a Player's Handbook or equivalent material to use as a reference when needed ⚡ Strong recommendations: - a journal or notebook to help keep track of notes and investigations - a set of dice (not mandatory, but it is a lot more fun to roll your dice yourself!) - a creative imagination and sense of adventure! Teachers will host a "session zero" class the first week of class, before the beginning of the adventure, to allow students to meet and discuss their characters together and explore any questions they may have in preparation for the short story campaign. During session zero, the teacher can help with finishing and fine tuning character sheets and any technical preparation ahead of the campaign.
Learning Goals
Our goal in all of our classes is to give students, especially neurodiverse students, a safe place to play together online. We also hope that they will make great friends who share their interests and passions.
