We will draw a whimsical, spooky house using oil pastels. Then we will brainstorm a story about our houses to help us come up with different ideas to add to our drawings to make them unique such as; monsters, grave stones, bats, cats, ghouls, etc. Students may follow along doing exactly what I am doing on my paper, but will be encouraged to experiment and try their own designs. If we have additional time left over, students will make additional pictures of spooky scenes using the same creative process.

-Manipulating lines to create 3D effects when drawing
-How to add highlights and shadows to 2D artwork for dramatic effect
-A willingness for students to think creatively and be innovative during the design process

Supply List
-Multiple Oil pastels (not chalk pastels) -White colored pencil -8 1/2 x 11 dark blue or black construction paper or card stock

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
