Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Beginner - Advanced Level
This class is a fun and easy introduction to oil pastel (or chalk pastel) blending and texture backgrounds. I will show my finished artwork at the start of class as a reference. We will discuss all the art supplies needed to create a black cat pumpkin attack painting. I will give a step-by-step drawing lesson to sketch the subject while learners create their work with me. Oil pastel techniques will be demonstrated to color, blend and texturize our painting as needed for the project. My classes are relaxed, encouraging, and creative with many options for the learners to personalize their artwork. Students may share their work at the end of class or in the Outschool classroom after they have added their finishing touches.
Note: Oil pastels are often called paintings when blending techniques are used to create a painterly appearance to the artwork. We will only be using oil pastel sticks not paint brushes.
