The leaves are beginning to turn, the temperatures are cooling, and that can only mean one thing - ***It's time for Monster Cookies!*** Join me in my kitchen as we bake warm and toasty, sweet and chocolatey, soft and chewy Halloween-themed cookies. The best part about Monster Cookies is how you can personalize them! I'll use any of the following types of morsels: semi-sweet, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, or peanut butter. Other fun additions are chocolate chunks or seasonal M&Ms. And don't forget the candy eyes! - They're my son's favorite. :-) This cookie dough is pretty thick, so a hand mixer probably won't be strong enough. I'll be using a stand mixer, and recommend it to you also, for best results. Pro tip: Have some parchment paper handy to prep your second bath of cookies on while the first is baking. **Allergen Warning:** 1) These cookies are naturally gluten free, but please be sure to check each ingredient specifically if your household has a gluten intolerance. Some ingredients, such as oats, can be processed in facilities that also process foods that contain gluten, making cross-contamination a possibility. 2) Peanut butter is a major ingredient. I recommend substituting with almond or cashew butter if your household has a peanut allergy. 3) For a nut-free option, sunflower butter may work. 4) Please check the recipe carefully to insure no allergens are missed. Please let me know if you have any questions. Let's help your learners to have the best class experience we can! ~Ms. Katie
