Class Experience

Thanks for looking into my class! IMPORTANT NOTE ON NECESSARY SUPPLIES: it is very difficult to create pop-ups successfully using thin paper (like printer paper). For the best chance at creating work with minimal frustration, PLEASE ENSURE YOUR LEARNER HAS THICKER PAPER - either construction paper (I recommend Tru-Ray, if you are buying new), or cardstock. See the "Materials" section for further notes. Students need to be able to cut and fold well to succeed at making pop-ups, but I'll help walk them step by step through the process!.

I'll teach learners how to do this step-by-step together, with a webcam focusing on my hands, checking for comprehension along the way. It's my goal that students will be able to recreate this on their own. Although I'll demonstrate a particular style of pop-up, they won't be limited at all in how they decorate or how they choose to embellish or change up the design. I encourage students to make this uniquely theirs and not just a carbon copy of mine!

Outschool rules of note:
-ALL PARTICIPATING LEARNERS must be registered - siblings may share a camera, but each sibling must be individually registered.
-I must verify learners visually with cameras on (unless they have gone through the Outschool verification process). I prefer that student cameras remain on during class so that I can see if students need help.
-Parents may not appear on-screen during class.

I hope to meet you soon!
