Students will learn how films work specifically in regards to Halloween themed specials, slasher films, and horror films. Students will learn how film elements work and what is significant to a certain genre. "Campyness" will also be discussed since Halloween specials tend to be more on the "campy" side. Various clips will be shown and discussed within the classroom from various movies and Halloween specials from television shows. Brief description of the culture around Rocky Horror Picture Show to discuss the use of props as an immersive experience, but no clip from it will be shown. Clips from Roseanne, 1408, Young Frankenstein, Hocus Pocus

Parental Guidance
Class will include clips of scenes from horror films and some thrasher films - content will involve gory themes as it is very prevalent in these types of films. See above for specific content.
