Class experience
In this class, students will gain a basic knowledge of Spanish. Students will acquire many new vocabulary words and practical communication skills through engagement with the teacher and classmates. Students will also practice their Spanish skills through fun activities and group games. During classes, we will learn vocabulary pertaining to certain topics, such as seasons/weather, family and home, feelings and emotions, clothing, and much more! Students will learn and practice basic Spanish communication skills, such as greetings, expressing their feelings, expressing their likes and dislikes pertaining to food, colors, weather, and so on.
I am a native bilingual speaker, having learned both English and Spanish simultaneously. FUN FACT! When my parents met, my mother spoke Spanish and Creole (because she taught children in Haiti) and my father spoke English and French. They communicated mostly in French until my mother became fluent in English!
Homework Offered
The success of each student highly depends on their engagement during class, as well as using the supplemental materials after class to practice what was learned. Practicing 10-20 minutes a day 4-5 days per week will be very helpful in committing their newly acquired words and phrases to memory.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
