Habitats and Biomes - Adventures of Earth, Its Ecosystems, and Life Sciences!

The Earth has a variety of different environments and ecosystems that have been formed and changed over the course of around 4.6 Billion years. These unique places across our planet all vary in moisture and temperature, as well as many other factors like light and air quality. Each of these have diverse and abundant organisms which form complex communities and webs of life that all count on each other to survive and thrive!
This is a class all about the different types of habitats and biomes that can be found across the globe. Learners will virtually travel our planet visiting terrestrial (land) and aquatic (water) habitats and biomes. We will traverse through specific notable biomes and environments that can be found on each of the continental land masses as well as our oceans and seas!
We will also spend time talking about why Earth is able to contain life and how it got to where it is today with specific history to the topic too!
We will cover what makes a habitat livable as well as how different organisms require different components to a habitat.
There will be plenty of facts provided on these places as well as their characteristics (biotic/ living and abiotic/physical), species diversity, and what makes them so special! We will work on broad (all encompassing) and narrow topics.

Biomes and habitats are heavily influenced by climate (Wind/ Temperature/ Moisture/ Currents) and we will go into basic and more in-depth knowledge on how each are created or defined.

Students will also learn about their conservation/ preservation, concerns, and threats as habitat degradation and fragmentation are apparent and increasing year by year. EDUCATION is the first step in conservation!

This is a lecture style, interactive class with many opportunities to ask and answer questions from myself or other students. 
No prior knowledge or experience is needed to take this course. A love for nature is most definitely appreciated :)
