I am a highly-qualified teacher of history for elementary through grade 9. I am a licensed teacher for elementary and middle school through grade 9. I have taught the history of WWII for over 15 years. I have had the opportunity to visit both President Roosevelt's summer white house and Churchill's War Rooms to walk through the halls of history. I enjoy sharing these stories of history with students.

Any study of war will expose students to both aggressors and defenders, losers, and winners; but, these labels do not define the individuals involved in the actual fighting. The people of war, sailors, soldiers, and airmen were carrying out the duties their military and country expected of them. There will always be people who take their duties too far to the extreme and those who suffer for it. This class is not meant to glorify any of the events of WWII, but to explain the sequence of events that elapsed across the Pacific Ocean in the 1940s. Because this class is about war students there will be a discussion of weapons, prisoners of war, injured men and civilians, and deaths. I do not go into detail or show images that highlight these events. The material is appropriate for middle school-age students.
