Class experience
US Grade 8 - 11
In this one-time class, I will work to expand and support the understanding of historical events based on the student’s area of need or interest. I prefer this class to be for individual students but will work also with small study groups or families. I teach using a mixture of stories, visuals (maps, charts, images), video clips, primary sources, and political cartoons based upon the historical event or time period. The student will learn the necessary details of past events for better understanding and comprehension. Students will learn how to answer short answer questions. Students will learn how to answer DBQ questions in the correct format.
I have taught world history for over 15 years. I am highly qualified to teach history and science for grades 5-9, in addition to an elementary teaching degree and two Masters in education. I have judged the National History Day Project at all levels, including the national level. I have had the opportunity to travel to many countries and learn more about the events that shaped our past as I’ve visited landmarks and memorials.
