This class is taught in English.
Learners will read sight words correctly that contain one of the short vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u). Learners will know the short vowel sounds that correspond to the letters a, e, i, o, and u. Learners will blend the sounds to read fluently. Learners will identify the vowel and know its sound when in a sight word.
I have two Masters degrees in education in addition to a degree in Early Childhood education. I have additional reading training in Orton-Gillingham and Brain-Friendly Reading programs. TESOL certificate.
1. The teacher created handouts to use in class and for practice. 2. I recommend that learners have at least one of the following: a whiteboard and markers, paper and pencil, or a salt tray for writing. 3. A highlighter Pop-its are welcome, but not necessary (we use them for spelling).
