US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
In this action packed one time class, students will learn a brief overview of catapults including why they were originally designed and how different types of energy play a part in how they work. Then students will build their own catapult using popsicle sticks and rubber bands. We will brainstorm how Santa and the Elves might use a catapult to make their jobs easier! We will also make some predictions about which item we think our catapult can launch the farthest. We will then launch our objects and see if our predictions were correct. We will follow the scientific method during this class. This class will be fun, educational, and highly interactive. **Off- screen parent help may be needed during catapult assembly.** *This class may be repeated in my ongoing preschool science lab class without the christmas theme applied. It is a great sampler for that class and a wonderful stand alone class as well!*

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from University of Maryland, College Park
Hello to Everyone! My name is Miss Meghan and I can’t wait to meet your child. I enjoy teaching a variety of classes for preschool and early elementary ages.
I hold a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. At the beginning of my career, I worked extensively with children with autism in home settings designing programs to help students access the world around them in an empowering way. After my oldest daughter was born, I became a licensed childcare provider creating a home away from home for many children to grow and learn. When my youngest daughter was born, I decided it was time to explore other options and that is how I landed at Outschool. I am so grateful for this opportunity and love meeting new learners from all over the world.
I have a passion for instilling a love of learning in young children through exposure, messy play, and fun! I strongly believe that letting children delve into learning at their own level and allowing for different types of learning styles sets children up for a life long learning journey.
In addition to teaching on Outschool, I also homeschool my two daughters who are my pride and joy. I feel so grateful to have a career that I love that also affords me the opportunity to spend time with my own children as well. In my free time, I enjoy art, brainstorming new lesson ideas, cross stitch, and reading!
I offer science, art, language arts, social studies, math, and social classes for preschool and kindergarten age groups, as well as social groups for neurodivergent! Please feel free to message me with any questions!
