Class Experience

Welcome to the Gujarati Conversational Club! This class is designed for practicing Gujarati speaking skills and is ideal for a learner who knows some Gujarati (vocabulary, simple sentence), or may have learned from my other classes (Beginner, Level 1 & 2).

They will practice pronunciation and fluency while talking about things they like to do, their family, friends, food, holidays and many other topics! It will be a relaxed class with no homework and only focus on retaining/practicing the vocabulary they are building in class or they already know.

Week 1 - July 19th - Greetings (Introduce yourselves)
Week 2 - July 26th - Likes/dislikes food items
Week 3 - August 2nd - Talk about your favorite movie/sport/player
Week 4 - August 9th - Simple Questions like what, where
Week 5 - August 16th - Read passage and discuss.
Week 6 - August 23rd - Vocabulary practice
Week 7 - August 30th - Reading passage and discuss with question/answers.

I am not teaching Gujarati in this class, I am helping kids to frame questions and it's answers in real life conversation.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Associate's Degree in Engineering (General) from THE INSTITUTION OF ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERS (IETE)
With a degree in Computer Engineering, I have been teaching Math and Computer Science for more than 15 years. I have also coached First Lego League team of 10 students and helped the team reach regional championships.

I believe in project based learning as it requires a thorough understanding of concept, and not just recall or recognition. It can be used to apply an academic content in new contexts. And, it starts with an inquiry, which leads to a deeper learning of not only an academic content but also use of it in a real world applications.
