Class experience
In this course, students will learn the skills necessary to play guitar. Students will start with basic skills such as how to hold the guitar, where to put their hands/fingers, how to strum the guitar, and basic mechanics of how a guitar works. As they progress, they will learn basic chords and scales, chord progressions, and different songs on the guitar. This course will meet once per week for 8 weeks. In Guitars Unleashed, students will understand the basic skills and techniques necessary to play the guitar. They will start with how to hold the guitar all the way to playing classic rock songs! The goal for each student is to have a basic understanding of how a guitar is played and how to read some music so they can continue their journey of learning the guitar.
Mr. Troina has been playing guitar for almost 20 years and has been teaching for 15 years. He can play both acoustic and electric guitar as well as bass guitar. In addition to private lessons, Mr. T teaches guitar to his students at his elementary school and has even formed rock bands each year with students in the 4th-5th grade.
Homework Offered
Students will be required to practice the skills taught throughout the week until the next Zoom meeting. 1-2 hours a week at a minimum.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessment will be used as Mr. T watches their skills during class and helps the student progress.Grades Offered
