Guitar & Ukulele Club: Weekly Pop Songs Summer Camp (Upper-Beginners & Up!)

Join us for a fun & engaging guitar & ukulele summer camp where students will expand their skills through new weekly pop songs. We'll cover chords, strum patterns, singing while playing, and more! Upper beginning, intermediate & advanced students welcome.


W H O   I T ' S   F O R : 

👉 This class is perfect for ukulele and guitar students of ALL LEVELS above the total beginner who want a summer camp to expand their guitar skills through songs they love!

Students should be able to...
👉 read chord charts
👉 play C major, A minor, G major, and F Major chords (simplified OR full versions) 


W H A T   W E ' L L   L E A R N : 

🎵 Each week we will learn one new pop song
🎵 Students will receive a handout each week before class with the chord charts, lyrics, and chords to use while practicing

     ♪ Week of June 10th: "Riptide" by Vance Joy (Am, C, G) 
     ♪ Week of June 17th: "This Is Me" from the Greatest Showman (C, Am, F, G) 
     ♪ Week of June 24th: "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus  (C, Em, Am, G) 
     ♪ Week of July 1st: "Titanium" by David Guetta & Sia (C, G, Am, F, Em) 
     ♪ Week of July 8th: "Brave" by Sara Bareilles (C, Em, D, G)  
     ♪ Week of July 15th: "On Top Of The World" by Imagine Dragons (C, F, G, Dm, Am) 

**Note: Lyrics are always adjusted if needed to remain age-appropriate & if there are Kidz Bop lyrics available, we always use those to substitute the originals.



C L A S S  R O U T I N E : 

Day 1: 
     ♪ intro to song
     ♪ practice chords + chord switching 
     ♪ guided practice with slide visuals 

Day 2: 
     ♪ song review + practice any trouble spots 
     ♪ play through entire song as a class
     ♪ optional performances 


🎤 Performances 

Student performances are optional but encouraged! This gives students a chance to show off what they've learned and celebrate their accomplishments. During student performances, all students use the chat box feature through Zoom and send compliments and encouraging messages while each student performs to maintain engagement and build community.
