Class Experience

Beginner Level

In this course students will learn popular tabs, chords and rhythms used across genres in music today. The teacher will guide students through learning chords with a combination of tabs and demonstration.  Each student will have a chance to play these chords individually and be offered critiques and suggestions by the teacher.  Students will learn many chords and strumming patterns during this course. Each student should plan to practice for an average of 10-15 minutes a day. Practicing for a short period every day has been shown to really help when starting to learn and instrument.

Students will need a guitar, a guitar pick, and a tuner for class.  You can find many guitar tuning apps on any smart phone.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Each student will be given individual suggestions and critiques throughout the course.

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
