Class Experience
In these weekly lessons, students will be taught how to form chords, how strumming & rhythm works, how to play scales which leads into playing guitar solos/lead guitar, and how to play your favourite songs! We start by focusing on rhythm guitar and learning how to carry chord progressions. This quickly leads us into songs. Beyond that, we examine the music theory behind scales and bring it right into soloing and playing melodically. The focus is always put on playing music and getting you to be the best guitarist you can be! No background knowledge is required, only that you have your own acoustic or electric guitar. What to expect in the first few lessons: -Learning open chords and basic chord shapes -Learning basic strumming patterns and rhythms -Counting the above rhythms out loud -Learning the C major scale in 1st and 2nd position (lowest octave, and octave above) -Performing a solo in the key of C -Learning your favourite songs!
