This is a comprehensive course for the beginner guitar player. We will start with the absolute basics from how to hold and tune the guitar. From there, we will learn a series of chords and implement them using exercises. Afterwards, scales will be taught as a means to play single notes and read tablature. These fundamentals will allow us to learn advanced techniques and complete songs. Toward the end of the class we will discuss music theory and advancing the student's abilities and goals. I teach using my own method which will be sent to the student along with other shared materials and examples. We will learn a lot but also have fun in the process, I try to keep each lesson light and always cater to the individual student's needs. Students will receive messages each week with an overview of the lesson and what/how to practice for the following lesson.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about their instrument, correct posture while playing, and proper technique.
Students will learn chords and strum patterns.
