Class Experience

This club is all about exploring the guitar! This means using popular songs to learn the fundamentals of good guitar technique and music theory, as well as teaching good practice habits. Each class begins with a demo/playthrough of the song as learners follow along with the music. Then, we collaboratively deconstruct the parts of the song, identify patterns, and formulate practice routines to improve our playing. Finally, we will put the song back together and play it as a group!

Topics will change from week to week, here's what to expect:
Week 1 (Nov. 15th, Dec. 13th, Jan. 10th): Vance Joy: Riptide - How to change open chords quickly.
Week 2 (Nov. 22nd, Dec. 20th, Jan 17th): Taylor Swift: 22 - How to make our strumming patterns more accurate.
Week 3 (Nov. 29th, Dec. 27th, Jan 24th): AC/DC: Thunderstruck - Mastering Hammer-ons and Pull-offs.
Week 4 (Dec. 6th, Jan. 3rd, Jan. 31st): Metallica: Master of Puppets - Improving our picking technique.

Learners are encouraged to repeat their favorite songs across multiple weeks to continue to improve their skills.
