In this class learners will listen to me read one of my FAVORITE stories, Philomena's New Glasses, as I show the various pictures of real guinea pigs. We will discuss lessons and themes in the story to enhance reading comprehension. The learners will get to meet some of my real, live guinea pigs (George, Harold, Norman and Chocolate), and they can also ask questions. We will also discuss some basic needs and how to care for/handle guinea pigs. This is a fun introduction to these amazing animals. Permission was given by the author to read this book.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Science from The University of Central Arkansas
I have a Master's degree in Family and Consumer Science and have been an FCS teacher since 2012. I also homeschool my four children. I have children who love robotics, Lego, animals and gardening. I enjoy making Lego and STEAM creations with my children. I love to broaden the horizon of learners through building bricks, animals and creativity. A fun fact about myself and my family is that we currently have 4 guinea pigs, 3 hermit crabs, 2 dogs and 2 cats!
