Class Experience

***** This class will run between 24th July and the 6th of August. Please feel free to request a time*****

This is a one time class you can take over and over if you like as each class will be different. We will meet our Guinea pigs and find out what stage in the life cycle they are up to.

At the start of the 2 weeks we will have 4 baby guinea pigs and 1 pregnant guinea pig mother (due at the start of August. During the first 2 weeks they will have their babies and we will observe and learn from them how they work together to care for their young. Guinea pigs are born furry and ready to walk and run around. These are live animals and we can not predict when they will have their new born babies as just like other animals they can have their babies early and late.

We will learn about the development of guinea pigs, their amazing social structures, how intelligent they are and about each guinea pig's unique personality.

This class is a discussion class with lots of opportunity for interaction. I will call on individual students to participate but please let me know if this is a problem for your learner as I am happy to work with families to meet the diverse needs of learners.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ BEFORE ENROLLING This class will follow the progress from pregnancy to birth to weaning. This raises a number of things to be aware of. - Just like all animals on rare occasions the babies do not survive the birth. This is rare but is a possibility. -This class follows the journey from pregnancy to birth of the guinea pigs and then the first few weeks of their lives. We can not predict what will happen during a live class as we are working with live animals. The birth of the guinea pigs will be recorded and will be made available for parents if they wish to watch with their child outside of class. This will not be mentioned during class. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
