Guinea Pig Cages: How to Keep Them Cleaner Longer! (Ages 8-12 Version)

In this class I will show you how I keep my guinea pig cage clean and tidy! With four guinea pigs to look after, cleaning the cage can be a long and tenuous chore, but I have created solutions in the cage in order to make cleaning time a lot more easy and actually even a little fun too! 

If you have spent an hour or more getting your cage cleaned, you will want to attend this class. There are some easy items that you can include in your cage to make it a snap to keep up and I have structured this class to help you do just that! We will get started with meeting each other and our guinea pigs, you will meet all four of mine! Then we will move right into looking at my cage and learning how to get set up. I will let the students know that they may want to jot some notes down as I am giving some of these instructions. I use a sewing machine to make my pee-pads and my liners, I will show the students how I do this and where I get my supplies. These items can also be made with out using a sewing machine and the students will also learn how. 

At the end of this class, students will have a good understanding about: 
*Pee Pads: 
If you use them in a certain way, the bottom of your cage will stay cleaner! I will show you how 
I make mine and where to get the supplies.
*Cardboard Houses: 
Guinea pigs need to chew, these are easy and inexpensive to find, I will show you where I look for mine and how I use them.
*Fleece Liners: 
Purchased and homemade, I will show where I purchased my liners, what I previously used and how I make my own. We also discuss the benefits if fleece liners over other choices for your cage.
*Crumbles: Safe crumbles to use, where to get them and how I use them to make my life easier! 

I love guinea pigs and sharing what I know about making their lives better as well as yours, the guinea pig parent! This class will have a lot of interaction with guinea pigs as well as students, I encourage an open class time with the ability to ask questions and share experiences with each other. I rarely ever use the mute button and students are welcome to interact with each other. I will use both live demonstrations as well as prerecorded videos to teach these topics. Bring a notepad to class and get ready to make your cage cleaning routine much easier and enjoyable!
