Class Experience
Calling all cavy owners. Is your guinea pig kind of smelly and totally in need of a good bath? Well, here’s your chance to join me and learn how to bathe your guinea. I will demonstrate how to bathe a guinea pig featuring one of my own cavy’s that tends to be quite smelly. During class, you will learn the proper shampoo to use, how to handle your guinea safely during a bath, how to scrub your guinea pig, and how to dry your guinea safely with a towel and hairdryer. This class is a live...
Students will learn how to safely bathe their guinea pig using proper handling techniques, proper soap, and drying techniques.
I have been an animal owner for over 30 years with experience in exotic animals for 6 years.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
As animals can be unpredictable, it is recommended if a student brings a guinea pig to class they have parental monitoring close by in the event the guinea pig gets frightened. Parents, please note the words "poop" and "pee" will be used in this class as it is an important part of identifying the overall health of the guinea pig such as identifying illnesses. There may be images shown in class and descriptions on how to properly sex the guinea pig (finding out if it's a girl or boy). The teacher will always be sensitive and avoid being overly detailed in descriptions. As guinea pigs should not be bathed that often, this class will only be held during specific times and during warmer weather when it is safe to properly bathe a guinea pig.
