Description
Class Experience
Let your child have an opportunity to practice writing different genres of texts. These lessons will focus on helping a struggling writer gain the confidence to construct strong paragraphs which will result in stronger essays. Students will learn how to successfully construct paragraphs and Essays when given a specific topic to write about. Additionally, they will be taught the literary elements and devices needed to develop Texts.
I have had more than 20 years of classroom and tutorial experience teaching Writing Skills to various age groups. I have extensive coursework and professional development training in the academic area of Writing. I have taught writing skills and strategies with English Language Arts Courses and with the READ 180 program which contains a writing component.
Each student should submit a draft of the essay topic given during the lesson. Students will post their draft so other students may view it. Students will submit their drafts by using the learners' tab. An Essay Topic following each class will be presented on the Post Section page and each student may contribute a few sentences to complete the development of this topic.
Students will need to have writing utensils and paper.
Student drafts will be assessed and critiqued for structure and content only.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
