Homework
Students may complete any unfinished work at home. It is highly suggested that students review each lesson daily and document notes about the strategies for further reference. This will greatly help them to retain the information more.
Assessment
Only verbal critiques will be given to improve the quality of a child's writing.

GUIDED WRITING BASICS is a Content Rich class for parents who want their children to learn how to develop simple strategies using four text genres.  What actually makes a writer good? What makes writing good?   What actually makes a writer good is knowing how to develop their texts.  This is done through learning the techniques, strategies, and devices that great writers use.  You have come to the right class because this is exactly what I will teach.  Students should walk away with numerous strategies that they can use to construct and develop the four genres of texts for years to come. THIS IS A 14-DAY COURSE.

LESSON OBJECTIVES AND SKILLS TO BE TAUGHT:
+ Lessons will be presented using a PowerPoint Slide Presentation. 
+ Construct descriptive, expository,  narrative, and persuasive writing.
+ Student responses will be written in a  three-paragraph essay format.
+ Learn how to brainstorm ideas/organize thoughts to create cohesive final drafts.
+ Learn how to structure or create cohesion in text via using transitional devices and 
   phrases.
+ Learn to use rhetorical devices such as imagery, similes, metaphors, hyperbole, and more

Learning Goals
