Coping with a global health crisis can be very stressful. Know that you're not alone. I’m offering a Guided Visualization class to encourage self-care behaviors. The practice of visualization requires using the imagination to restore a more peaceful and pleasant time and place in our mind's eye. I will guide students through the exercise, which involves closing the eyes, breathing, and concentrating on relaxation of the body and mind. While guided visualization would be beneficial for most students, it is especially effective for creatives - imagery techniques often help us break out of a creative block. I hope you consider signing up! See you in class.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to:
1. Use a meditative practice to maintain and/or improve health.

Teacher expertise and credentials
My background in theatre has given me many tools to practice stress-relief. The famous acting teacher Lee Strasberg once said, “If there is tension, the actor cannot think or feel." Relaxation is an important tool in the actor's toolbox. As a teacher, I've found that relaxation exercises such as guided visualization provide students with comfort and help them feel better about stressful situations. I'm happy to share this class for students as a small break from their day-to-day.
