Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
I enjoy reading and sharing great literature with our youth. After the reading takes place in each class session, students will be presented and challenged with discussion questions that relate to the pages read. This class will allow students to not only engage and connect to reading some intriguing literature but also to verbally respond by sharing their understanding and opinions of the characters and events within each text. Generally speaking, sessions with be held for approximately 60-minutes. Because I will do the majority of the reading, there will be a short break incorporated. This is a very relaxing setting, as you can see. This course might require students to read some of the content, from time to time, for homework.

Please feel free to invite your friends to share in an afternoon/evening of good literature today. As the schedule delineates, different texts will be used that are comprised of short stories, novels and plays. PLEASE CHECK ALL SCHEDULES & DATES BELOW TO ENROLL IN YOUR FAVORITE SESSIONS. SEE YOU SOON!

========================================
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: The Short Story, Novel, and Play course will include the following books. I have selected multiple texts that are enlightening and engaging for readers: The Widow and the Parrot, Beowulf, Number the Stars & Holes and many others. Please note that "Beowulf" centers on reading about a dragon, "Number the Stars" will focus on the Holocaust, and "Holes" is about a young boy who was sent to a boys' detention center. Please make sure that these are topics you desire your children to read about. Additionally, I have selected 4-8 Shakespearian plays that have been refined for student interest by authors who presents them in a more simplistic manner which is appropriate for younger children. The content of the original plays has not been changed, but has been written using more simplistic verbiage for younger student understanding. The texts are child-friendly and are an easy way to understand the classics. Please make sure content is acceptable and comfortable for your children since it has themes centering around greed, death, and revenge and a woman disguised as a man.

PLEASE NOTE: LITERATURE WILL CHANGE FROM TIME TO TIME; THEREFORE, students can take this course multiple times. Please check the schedule closely.
