In this on going class, the student will practice reading skills one-on-one with the teacher. The student will receive explicit phonics instruction and comprehension skills will be addressed.

US Grade Kindergarten
This is a one time guided reading class, with an instructional approach where the teacher will support the needs of a student using a variety of strategies and readers including but not limited to leveled and phonetic readers. The teacher will also use other phonetic resources depending on the needs of the learner. The goal of this class is to build confidence while engaging in reading activities and increase word recognition, fluency, and comprehension skills.
I am a National Board Certified Teacher with many years of experience with teaching explicit phonics and guided reading. I have been teaching phonics and guided for approximately 18 years. While teaching these focus areas, I have participated in many researched based training which have given me a great foundation to effectively instruct students from day to day.
