In this 4 week book club course, students will read and discuss the beloved classic, Charlotte's Web, with peers and the teacher. 
We will explore characters and their actions, recount important events, and identify themes to make personal connections with the story. 
We will practice decoding multisyllabic words and explore new vocabulary.
Each week, students will read 5-6 chapters of the book on their own (or with their grown-up) prior to the class. We will then meet to discuss the assigned reading. The discussion will be teacher-led and aligned to US Common Core Standards.

Parental Guidance

Content advisory: this story explores the perceived threat of death for the main (pig) character, and the death of a (spider) character.

Pre-Requisites

Students should be able to fluently read single-syllable words with various phonics patterns, and should be able to use phonics skills to decode multisyllabic words.

You will need to provide your own copy of Charlotte's Web by E.B. White.
