45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this fun drawing class, we will begin by dividing our paper into four sections. I will also provide a printable page (upon enrollment) that is already divided if your student would prefer to have this step done for them! However if your student would prefer to use a sketch book, canvas, or larger piece of paper, then we’ll lightly section off our piece in pencil. Next, I will guide students step by step through drawing four absolutely magical characters from fairy tales; a mermaid, a dragon, a unicorn, and a yeti, or bigfoot. We will sketch out the characters in pencil. Our drawings will be fairly simple so that it is accessible to learners at various levels of art experience, however, it will still be fun for more advanced learners too. They will be encouraged to add their own style and flare to the drawing and in the end all students will be invited to show their artwork, so advanced artists may enjoy being someone for younger artists to look up to! After we pencil in our characters, I will give some tips for “inking” or, outlining our drawing. Throughout class, I will foster a rich exchange of ideas and imagination, so depending on how much our class loves to communicate, we may or may not have time to color in our masterpieces. Even if we have time to get started, it is not likely we will completely finish coloring. However, I invite students to take a break after class, then come back and add any finishing touches, and then post their finished art in our virtual classroom. With parent and student permission, I will then share these fabulous works of art on my Instagram and Facebook so that they can get that extra confidence boost by seeing others give them those likes and comments.
