Students will learn words and phrases in American Sign Language (ASL) to describe themselves and others. They will begin with learning signs for gender (girl, boy, man, woman), colors associated with hair and eye color, height descriptors, and age classification (old, young, baby). Then students will learn specific detail signs for describing others, such as long or short hair, curly or straight hair, glasses, and/or braces. They will conclude by choosing a character from the pictures provided by the teacher to play a game of "Can You Guess Who I Am?!" The lesson will be structured beginning with teacher modeling. Then students will practice as a group with guidance from the teacher. We will conclude with a group interaction activity, playing "Can You Guess Who I Am?!", where students will independently describe a character for others to guess. 2-5 minutes: Introductions 15-20 mins: learning descriptive signs 10 mins: students personal description 15-20 minutes: Can You Guess Who I Am?!
