High fantasy is one of the most popular genres of fiction and has a long relationship with the queer experience. Though it may not always seem like it, Queerness has always had a place in fantasy worlds, I mean look at elves. Fantasy is one of the few genres where it's actually against the rules to be homophobic, and thus fantasy realms are the perfect place to express one's queerness. I am a historian, a thespian, and a member of the Queer (asexual, trans-nonbinary) community. (they/them or ze/zir). I have spent the better part of my life working with at-risk youths and helping them to turn their lives around and become comfortable with the best versions of themselves. I graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in History specializing in Asian History and Folklore with a minor in Theater in 2017. After that, I graduated from Arizona State University with a master’s in World History in 2019. I have taught LGBTQ+ history, Medieval European and Asian history, Comics and Pop Culture history, Theater, Writing, Folklore, and Occult studies for the last six years. I regularly volunteer to teach as an LGBTQ+ studies teacher, utilizing theatrical techniques, to at-risk students, and have been for the last 9 years. Likewise, I also love writing stories and plays in my free time and have been playing and running RPG games since I was 16. I run tabletop games in my free time across multiple ages groups and genres.
Gamers will need: -a completed character sheet -pencil -paper -dice
RPG games include regular themes of fantasy battle. This particular game focuses on a dark world that can change content on a whim.
