Every child is different but friendship is important to all of them. We will begin the class by discussing why friendship is important. Students will then be introduced to the following topics and will be encouraged to share their experiences; -What is a friend? -How to start a conversation -We will discuss friendship and the behaviors of a friend. -How can someone damage a friendship? -Students are welcome to share stories about the friends they have. -What is the good quality of that friend? Why do they like that friend and what activities do they do together? =We will then conduct a fun self-assessment . . . Am I a good friend? This class is designed to be highly interactive. We will be discussing scenarios and responses to aid understanding. Therefore this class will only be offered when there are more than 3 students registered. Students will be encouraged (not required) to have their cameras on and to share with their fellow classmates in a safe, fun, and encouraging manner. This is a class offering information about management strategies only, individualized or group therapeutic support is not provided

Students will improve their understanding of different types of persons and ways to interact.

Teacher expertise and credentials
As a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Coach, I teach social-emotional skills to children in the classroom setting throughout our division on an ongoing basis. Some of my sessional courses are Understanding Self Talk, Writing Personal Daily Positive Affirmations, and Unleash Your Super Power. I have also offered this training to adults in a corporate environment for the past 30 years.
