Self-talk is the inner voice that goes on inside our heads throughout our waking hours. Positive self-talk is when we talk to ourselves in a reassuring, kind, and more optimistic way. Negative self-talk is when we talk to ourselves in an unkind and limiting way. Becoming aware of the way you talk to yourself so important for children. The ultimate goal is for children to become aware of limiting beliefs and words (self-talk) and how to help that voice in your head to be strong and kind.
As a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Coach, I teach social-emotional skills to children in the classroom setting throughout our division on an ongoing basis. Some of my sessional courses are Understanding Self Talk, Writing Personal Daily Positive Affirmations, and Unleash Your Super Power. I have also offered this training to adults in a corporate environment for the past 30 years. Please note - This class is designed to be highly interactive. We will be discussing scenarios and responses to aid understanding. Therefore this class will only be offered when there are more than 3 students registered.
Students will need: - a copy of the affirmation document I will share - star template - I will share -pencil or pen -scissors - rubber band or hair tie that fits comfortably in your wrist.
