US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Students will start by sharing a challenge (hard time) they have had when learning something new. They will be guided with a slide show and discussion that will explain to them what a growth mindset is and how it is helpful in helping them overcome challenges. We will discuss what life would be like without mistakes and what mistakes they can remember making when they first started learning something like soccer, writing, etc. They will practice identifying a growth mindset from the me giving examples of different scenarios such as a child that gives up on a school project and a child that trys completing his project in a different way, instead of giving up. Students will draw themselves overcoming a mistake they made. They will create a saying/mantra, such as "I will be stronger from any mistakes I make," to remind themselves that it's okay to make mistakes and each mistake will make them stronger.
