In this 4-week self-paced journaling class, learners build healthly, mindful habits and have fun with journaling at the same time! Learners use their creative minds to express themselves in their online journal (print option available).

This 4-week journal writing experience will build healthy and mindful habits. 

Students will use an interactive, online journal via the platform Canva with pre-recorded videos each step of the way! 

Weekly lessons include:

➡️ Goal Setting and Check-in journal pages
➡️ Fun journaling prompts
➡️ Extra journaling pages

About Ms. C

I bring expertise to the virtual classroom with over 13 years of writing instruction in the middle school and high school classroom, both online and in person. 

This is interactive, asynchronous (self-paced) class specifically designed to empower young teens to practice health and wellness through written and creative expression. 

➡️ This class features the I Do, We Do, You Do modeling structure. 

I Do= 
Teacher led instruction that SHOWS effective writing models and examples. 

We Do= 
Students practice a new skills with the support of the teacher (this can be done by the teacher using examples and sentence starters to support students as they apply their skills to various writing concepts)

You Do= 
Student practice independently with out teacher support.

No live classes on Zoom, offering a self-paced and flexible learning journey! 
 
You work at your pace - where, when, and how you want by watching pre-recorded videos, completing digital assessments, and posting your work to our classroom.

This self-paced class meets *asynchronously*, there will be *no* live meetings. Recorded lessons, printouts, and writing tasks are posted to the virtual classroom on Outschool.com. Students will enjoy working at their own pace and on their schedule!

Students watch teacher-created videos as they follow an interactive class syllabus. 
This is your class, so work at your pace! I respond promptly to all posts, provide time for working on lessons in our weekly schedule, and give feedback.

Digital-Workplace Skillls will use Canva to journal. This is a very popular design website that is used throughout schools and companies world-wide.

Lesson 1:
How to Start Your Journal
 In this short, easy to follow video, I will guide you on how to set up your online journal on Canva. 
8 mins of video lessons
Lesson 2:
Goal Setting
 Learners will watch a video on goal setting, decorate their personal online journal cover, complete a Weekly Check-In page, respond to a fun prompt and complete a video and written reflection page. 
Unit 2: Week 2
Lesson 3:
Trying New Things
 Learners will watch a video on Learning New Skills, complete a Weekly Check-In page, respond to a fun prompt and complete a video and written reflection page. 
Unit 3: Week 3
Lesson 4:
What You Can Learn from Traveling
 Learners will watch a video on Traveling, complete a Weekly Check-In page, respond to a fun prompt and complete a video and written reflection page.

Learning Needs
This class experience is designed for students who benefit from visual learning and can work at their own pace.
Parental Guidance
We will use Google Classroom as a platform for this class. For learners under 13, parents please use or create a Gmail account for access. Learners will access Canva through our Google Classroom and will prompt learners to log in to Canva (free access). For learners under 13, parents please create a Canva account using a Gmail or e-mail account for access.

This course is created to be an interactive-online journal, BUT I have uploaded a printable version that learners can print and write in as well.
