Did you know that plants can talk, move, sense danger, defend themselves and nurture their young? In this one-time class learn cool things about plants, understand their biology, their role in the ecosystem and how to care for them.

Come with me and explore the plant kingdom! This class will begin with the evolutionary background of plants: how they came to be, how different groups of plants evolved and what ecological role they fulfill. We will look at images and of different plants and learn some fun facts about them. Then we will learn about the main parts of a plant and how they work together to get what the plant needs to survive. We will discuss water, minerals and photosynthesis. Learners will draw a diagram labelling the parts of a plant and indicating how it makes food. We will build on our knowledge of plant needs to explore how to care for them. Finally, learners will have the option to show-and-tell a plant of their choice!
