Grow Your Own Happiness

A fun and engaging 8-week course to introduce primary-aged children to the science of happiness. To learn how to impact their own happiness levels through their actions positively and also how to influence the happiness of others.

Class Experience

Students will gain a better understanding of the science of happiness, increased knowledge of their own well-being, and how to make better life choices for themselves to grow their own happiness. 
Opportunities will be created to demonstrate their creative writing, reflective thinking and science-based learning. 
Having not always been the happiest of teachers, I trained in India to become a happiness coach and to find my own happiness.  I now use my 15 years of teaching, what I learnt about myself and my own understanding of wellness and psychology to create happiness courses and well-being classes for children and adults alike. 
Homework is Self-work, it is optional and based on activities that will create a better understanding of self, self-worth and happiness. 
Children will be encouraged to start doodling or journaling and will require a suitable notebook or journal and pens for this to happen. All curriculum and materials will be provided.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
We will have quizzes and informal assessments to ensure learners' understanding and progress.  Each learner will also receive a certificate of happiness upon completion. 
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be exploring psychological and emotional well-being theory, yet, these sessions are not intended to be therapeutic or as an alternative to therapy.  I am not a therapist or a councilor.   
We will refer to science-based theories and practices throughout based on happiness philosophy and behavioral psychology.
