In the next 6 weeks we will bridge the gap between gardening, cooking and art while learning how it's connected to earth science. Answering the questions such as where does food grow? Do plants exist everywhere? Are all plants edible? and so many other scientific questions. We will also learn how to cook, store, and preserve the food that we cultivate while finding a new love for science. Each week there will be a weekly art assignment that will engage the lesson in everyday life so there is a deeper understanding on the subject.
3 files available upon enrollmentA welcome package is sent before the class so you can get all of your materials the week before the class begins. All Worksheets and lesson plans are sent out the week of the class. This fun packed class will only use most of the items you may already have around the house, however I recommend doing the homework with your children to engage the lessons each week within your household. Do not be afraid to be creative.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each week we will share our work, from the "homework" assignment and speak about the topics at hand. Our goal is to make sure the child has the ability to teach the subject or as least be able to have an intellectual discussion about the lesson once the 6 weeks are done.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class Involves the of knives for cooking, please be sure you are okay with your children using a knife before enrolling in this class.
