In this gardening club, learners will have the opportunity to meet regularly with other learners and share their interest in growing an edible garden. The teacher will facilitate a live discussion on the topics that arise throughout the season in an edible gardening environment. Each meeting will have a short introduction period, followed by a topic introduction (this will vary through the season, but will all be directly related to the garden), a class discussion, and a period for asking and answering questions. Learners will have the opportunity to submit topic ideas and questions through the classroom up to 1 hour before the start of class. We will utilize the message board in the classroom to communicate between sessions, and to share photos or videos of our garden projects. This is a social club with topical discussions.
Learning Goals
This is a social club with facilitated topical discussions. Learners will be able to discuss the details of their interests in edible gardening, and learn how to research and troubleshoot any problems that arise in the course of the gardening season.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from University of New Orleans
Hello! My name is Beth. I teach classes in writing, sewing, gardening, and life skills. I unschool my own two children, we are from New Orleans, LA, and now live on a small farm in south Mississippi.
I believe that where there is interest, learning will follow. I create engaging and interesting classes that inspire interest and foster learning and true comprehension. I offer a supportive and positive learning environment where it is safe to make mistakes. Mistakes are an amazing opportunity for learning. I enjoy helping students find the spark that lights the fire of motivation. In my classroom, students grow in confidence and bravery.
I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
