This is an ongoing hand sewing club that will have a new sewing project each week. No previous sewing experience necessary. The goal of the class is to learn a useful skill by creating fun and interesting projects geared to teens.
Class experience
This is definitely not your Granny's sewing class. The goal of this class is to have lots of fun, chat a bit and learn some great sewing skills! The projects will be fun and creative and the students get a say as well! Come sew with us and chat while we all create fun and useful hand-sewn projects. A list of supplies for each class will be sent out before each class, with the pattern so that students can find the perfect fabric for the project. No sewing machine required. We will be hand-sewing and will sew with a needle and thread. Materials for each class: thread, needle, scissors, straight pins, printed pattern. Kawaii Cat Sewing Kit - 3 buttons, 1 piece of black and 1 piece of white felt. Plus another piece of felt for the main kit of any color. Also, a piece of scrap yarn that is yellow or green. Embroidered Heart decoration - yarn of any color to make two pom poms, 1 piece of felt of any color; embroidery thread to match the yarn Fried Egg Coin Purse - 1 piece of white and 1 piece of yellow felt
There will be sewing needles used and I will explain to the students at the beginning of each class about safety and using thimbles to avoid hurting themselves.
