Class Experience

Rather than learning a specific song, students will learn the fundamentals of the style and practice "jamming" or creating their own melodies. They will learn how...
Students will be able to improvise in the right hand using the major and pentatonic scales.
I have a bachelor's degree in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia, a master’s degree of Kodály in Music Education from Loyola University Maryland, and 10+ years experience of Blues/Boogie Woogie improvisation on the piano. I'm incredibly passionate about passing on what I've learned about piano improvisation to students, as I wish I had more access to high quality improvisation instruction when I was younger.
Students will need a keyboard or a piano. It is recommended to point the camera at the keys if possible.
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
