Description

Class Experience


In this course we will review the vowel-R patterns: ar, or, er, ir, and ur.  Students will learn some new ways to spell /er/.

Day One:  We will focus on words with the or (/er/) pattern, as in "doctor."
Day Two:  We will review words with or (/er/) at the end and work on words beginning with wor (word, work, worm)
Day Three: We will review words that begin with wor and learn words with ear, as in "learn."  

Each class will run in the exact same format as to instill confidence and security...

I am a licensed teacher in the State of Indiana with over 25 years experience teaching, tutoring and coaching.  I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method by The Dyslexia Institute of Indiana and in Kindergarten OG by the M.A. Rooney Foundation.  In the past year I have completed Advanced Orton-Gillingham Training and Written Expression Training by the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana.  I have completed courses in the past three years on dyslexia and structured literacy through the Montessori Foundation.  I have also taken Conscious Discipline training.  I am a professional member of the International Dyslexia Association.  I am currently working on LETRS training through Voyager Sopris Learning and have completed Units 1-4 with Mastery.  In 2018-2020 I worked in a private Montessori school serving students who have Individual Service Plans.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
